Tagus Original Secondary Review by D.P.

Tagus
Original
ABV – 4.5%
Appearance – Golden,  sharp.  Impressive effervescence.  Rich head.  A nice looking beer.
Smell – Malt and green vegetables.
Taste – Sweet, honey-like taste,  start, middle, and finish.  Very mild sense of bitterness in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel – Not bad.  Maybe a bit syrupy.
Drinkability – Sure,  why not?
Notes – The honey flavor prevails but is not overpowering.  The 8.45 oz. bottle is cute.  Just a touch too sweet for my liking,  kind of like the annoyingly nice and condescending woman who answers the phone when you call to complain about a utility bill.
My call – 3.0

Magic Hat Single Chair Golden Beer Review by D.P.

Single Chair Golden Beer
Magic Hat
ABV – 5%
Appearance – Nice golden, clear color with a hint of green,  almost like gator-ade.
Smell – Yeasty,  smells like a wheat beer.
Taste – Tastes like grain at first, then mellows out to a neutral nothingness. Slight hop aftertaste. The very last mouthful gave me a pleasant sweetish finish and aftertaste.
Mouthfeel – Very beer-like and comfortable.
Drinkability – Maybe – just skip to the last mouthful.
Notes – This beer could have been called “Redemption”.
My call – 3.0

Sierra Nevada Glissade Golden Bock Review by D.P.

Review By D.P.

ABV – 6.4%
Appearance – Amber,  quickly vanishing head.
Smell – Malty,  tangy.
Taste – Odd,  almost fishy.  The last mouthfull is like eating hops right out of the bag.
Mouthfeel – A bit cloying.
Drinkability – Ehhh. (that’s a shrug).
Notes – As George Thorogood would say,  ” I don’t know, man….she kinda funny.”
Overall – 2.0

Pete’s Wicked Strawberry Blonde – Secondary Review D.P. & Z.P.

Pete’s Wicked Strawberry Blonde – Golden Blonde Lager – Pete’s Brewing Co.,  Utica, N.Y.
ABV – 5.0 %
Review by D.P.
Appearance – Nice Golden Color
Smell – Very slight strawberry smell mingled with a tangy sensation.  Smells like a wheat beer.
Taste – Pleasant balance of flavors.  I don’t actually pick up the strawberry until late in the finish.
Mouthfeel – Smooth
Drinkability – No complaints.  Very drinkable
Notes – I’m not a huge fan of beers with fruit flavors,  but this one is so subtle it’s barely noticeable.  Put on Enya’s Watermark c.d.,  kick back and enjoy one or two of these.
My call – 3.5

Review by Z.P.

Appearance – Super clear amber, very impressive head.
Smell – Strawberries
Taste – Upon the beer hitting my tongue I get the taste of strawberries, in the middle it just taste like a pilsner, and the aftertaste is a pleasant repeat of strawberries.
Mouthfeel – Simple
Drinkability – Very easy to drink, would probably go down great on a hot summer day.
Closing Notes – Simple but pleasant, like driving through the country listening to folk music.
Rating – 3.5
